Barrett M82 .50 Cal Sniper Rifle

The Barrett .50 Caliber Rifle was designed by a professional photographer and artist who wanted to produce a shoulder fired .50 BMG round. The idea was conceived on his kitchen table, the prototype mde on a gravel floor garage workshop and the rest is history.

Along with John Browning, John Garand and Eugene Stoner, Ronnie Barrett is one of only four people in the last 100 years to have invented a firearm adopted by the US Military.

The Barrett M82 is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle developed by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing.

It is primarily used as a heavy SASR (Special Application Scoped Rifle), it is used by many units and armies around the world. It is also called the "Light Fifty" for its .50 caliber BMG (12.7 mm) chambering.

Plans to build a full scale replica of the Barrett M82 .50 Cal Rifle. The plans include guides, photographs and template patterns to make a fully functional Airsoft Barrett M82 using a donor AEG (M16 or M4)

The plan set consists of 12 sheets of plans - A0, A1and A3 sized sheets in Adobe PDF format and 47 page Build Photographs to guide the production of the replica .50 caliber sniper rifle

Construction material of the main body is 2mm or 3mm alunimium sheet - the plans include templates to pre-groove or route bending guides to ensure that the home builder can achieve accurate bending to form the body without sheet metal working tools and presses.

All plans are full size - this enables unmarked dimensions to be measured using the Measure Tool in Adobe Reader software. This is located in the Tools Menu on the Adobe Reader Software menu bar

The the marking out and cutting templates included in the plans are full size - print out and use. Large sheets can be printed out at a Print Shop or stitched from A4 sheets printed on a home printer.

The Plans Set for the Barrett M82 A3 is designed for the home builder and does not require specialist tools - the project does not need any welding, lathes or milling machines, however basic hobby tools such as a drill press and hand held power tools.
